Zepp Health unveils smaller, sleeker Amazfit GTR Mini smartwatch
Zepp Health (aka Huami) has released a mini version of its popular GTR model this morning. The new watch is known simply as the Amazfit GTR Mini.
In July, Zepp Health made the Amazfit GTS 4 Mini official. That was actually the first watch in the Amazfit GT 4 Series to drop. After than we got the GTS 4 and GTR 4, both excellent watches. You can check out our review of the GTR 4 on this link.

Up until today we have only had a Mini version of a GTS watch. The latest iteration packs a 1.65 inch HD display. It has a water resistance rating of 5 ATM and built-in support for five satellite positioning systems. This is accompanied by a heart rate monitor, stress tracker, SpO2 sensor, and support for over 120 sports modes. Some of these have auto-recognition. Vo2Max, full recovery time, training load, and training effect are all performance metrics that are included. The device was a follow-up to the GTS 2 Mini, which was released in 2020.
Amazfit GTR Mini – a smaller but capable version of the watch
Now for the first time we are getting a smaller version of the Amazfit GTR. It is not too different in terms of internal specs as compared to the GTS variant.
The National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) in Brazil registered the watch on January 12th, 2023. The exact same device was approved by the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in November. There was speculation the timepiece might be GTR 4 Pro. But that’s not the case. We are yet to see that one.
The Amazfit GTR Mini comes with a curved glass 1.28-inch 2.5D AMOLED display. This is housed inside a 42mm case with a thickness of 9.25 mm, the weight of which is a mere 23.6 grams. The stainless steel is polished to a high gloss. All of this is attached to a buckle watch strap that is available in three fashionable colours: Navy Blue, Pink, and Black.
In terms of fitness, the Amazfit GTR Mini includes a 24-hour heart rate monitor, a SpO2 sensor, and a stress monitor. The device tracks more than 120 different sports modes and recognises a few of these activities automatically.
The smartwatch is powered by a sizeable 280mAh battery and ships with Zepp OS 2. This is good for around 20 days in battery saver mode and about 14 days in normal mode. The Amazfit GTR Mini is Android and iOS compatible, with Bluetooth 5.2 for seamless connectivity.
It includes a support for five sattelite positioning systems GPS, QZSS, BEIDOU, GLONASS, and GALILEO, allowing you to track your location with precision and ease. This is a step down from the dual band satellite capabilities of the GTR 4. The Biotracker sensor is also a generation behind.
Perhaps this is why the device is called Amazfit GTR Mini rather than GTR 4 Mini. With that in mind, the watch sells for around $120 on Amazfit’s website and Amazon. The price sounds pretty reasonable considering the specs.
Great news for those after a smaller alternative to the GTR
This is great news for those looking for a more affordable version of the GTR. It promises to deliver a lot in a smaller package.
Zepp Health has made excellent improvements with its GT4 line. The watches offer better heart rate monitoring that before, they have the ability to connect to external chest straps, and GPS is quicker to connect and more accurate.
